Cool Gear for Quick HD Videos

We've been shooting a lot of how-to videos lately, and have been getting a lot of questions about the gear we use . . . so we thought we'd do a post on the topic. Here's goes.

Lowepro Fastpack 250 - for easy packing, unpacking and toting
Canon 5D Mark III - the best for HD videos
Canon 28-105mm lens (this lens is about 15 years old and still works great)
Bose Noise Canceling Headphones - you gotta monitor the sound!
Induro Tripod - for steady shooting
Induro Ball Head - fine tunes camera angle
Hoodman loop - to check videos
Op/Tech Rain Sleeve - to keep our camera dry in the rain
Sennheiser wireless mic set - perfect sound
RODE VideoMic (our back up mic and when shooting two people)
AA batteries for mics
AAA batteries for headphones
D batteries for Rode mic
Small flashlight for low-light set ups.

The Lowepro Fastpack 250 is light and offers easy access to all our video gear. I have a camera strap attached to my tripod. It acts as a shoulder strap for easy carrying.

Shooting videos is easier than you think . . . but some basic how-to info is required. For that info, check out the DVD/dowload that Juan Pons and I produced. It's on sale for 1/2 price until August 31st.

Stay tuned to Rick TV for more movies. Iceland is next!

Explore the light,
