One Spot Just Opened On My "In the Footsteps of Ansel Adams" 2012 Photo Caravan

One spot just opened on my "In the Footsteps of Ansel Adams" photo caravan, which takes place next month. If you are interested, shoot me an email.

Here's the info on this landscape photography workshop:

I hope you can join me for my  photo caravan to Yosemite, Mono Lake, Bodie State Historic Park and the Alabama Hills – and discover first hand why Ansel Adams was a frequent visitor to these inspiring photographic locations.

I made this exact trip several years ago and it was extremely rewarding.

Participants will have an opportunity to  with me and work on their landscape, panorama and HDR images – on site and in digital darkroom sessions using Lightroom and Photoshop.

The workshop begins in Yosemite, a location offering stunning waterfalls and beautiful vistas. After crossing the Sierra Nevada Mountains and Tioga Pass, the group will visit Mono Lake, one of Ansel Adams’s favorite shooing locations. Mono Lake is the perfect place to capture the bold colors of sunrise and reflections at sunset.

The caravan wraps up with a drive to Lone Pine, California to photograph the Alabama Hills, a unique outcropping of rock formations made famous in classic American movie Westerns, including “How the West Was Won,” “Hopalong Cassidy” and “High Sierra.”

This is an excellent workshop for photographers who are looking to improve their landscape and nature photography, and to expand their portfolios with unique subjects and images.

Here’s how the caravan works: You drive. You book your own hotel rooms (we will recommend a hotel in each location). You pay for your own meals. We provide photographic instruction and guidance. And, we arrange shooting locations, meeting times, conference rooms, restaurants, etc.

Workshop fee is $900.  Participants will be limited to 10.

Cost includes all in-the-field and digital darkroom instruction by Rick and a copy of Rick’s book, Exploring the Light.

I hope the sunrises and sunsets are as perfect as they were on the Florida Caravan last year. It will be a blast seeing the group again!
